Send a few photos of your stair and your town and you get a real budget range on the first call — no sales meeting, no pressure. First thing we ask is what your floors are, so your stair matches the house. Designed and built in our Whitehall shop since 1987.
From a one-day iron-baluster swap to a whole new curved staircase — pick the scope that matches your project. Each one designed, built, and finished in our shop.
Most projects start with one of these. Send a few photos of your stair and your town, and we’ll tell you the scope — and a real budget — on the first call.

The right staircase talks to your floors, your trim, even your kitchen — that's the first thing we ask about. Here are the four directions most homes take, and we'll help you choose yours.

Wood — warm, classic, built to belong.

Iron meets oak — the Lehigh Valley's most-requested update.

Clean lines — minimal iron, slim profiles, quiet finishes.

Square wood balusters — clean, timeless, the look people have chosen for a century.
Choosing a staircase isn’t just the stair — it’s your floors, your trim, your kitchen, the era of your home. After 39 years we know what works together. Send a few photos and we’ll tell you what fits, and what we’d do.

Same foyer, top to bottom. Out went the dated oak rail, basket-twist iron, and the patterned carpet runner; in came white-oak treads, a clean white-oak rail, and slim satin-black iron — built in our Whitehall shop and set on-site in a few days.

After
Send a few photos of your stair and your town and we give you a real budget range on the first call — before anyone visits, no sales meeting, no pressure. Here's the whole path.
01Three photos of your stair and your town. We come right back — same day — with a real budget range, straight over the phone. No sit-down required.
02We come to your home, field-measure, and talk through what you've been picturing. We'll tell you what fits the house — and what's not worth the money.
03We walk the selections — wood, balusters, finish — and put a written quote in your hands. Want to see the materials first? Stop by the showroom at our Whitehall shop and pick them out in person. (Curved and circular stairs get a CAD drawing too.) A 50% deposit starts the build.
04Built by hand in our 117 Franklin Street shop — we build your stair and install your railings ourselves, one accountable shop start to finish. Stock-part jobs run 2–4 weeks; custom newels, 8–12.
05Your stair arrives crated and ready to set, and our crew installs the railings — usually a day or two. Most jobs you keep living in the house the whole time. We haul the old stair away.

Specialists
¶ Railing + stair · since 1987

Designed, built, finish-fit, and crated under one roof at 117 Franklin Street since 1987. The parts we don't make — posts, balusters, newels, iron — we source from specialist suppliers and coordinate under the Snyder umbrella, so it all comes together as one project.
We design and build the stair, and install the railing. The wood, the iron, the newels and balusters all run through our shop and get fit together here — so you're not chasing three vendors to finish one staircase.
It's a niche the Lehigh Valley doesn't have many of — most shops take orders for railings and outsource the stair, or do general renovation and treat the stair as a side scope. We do stairs and railings only. Every day, for 39 years.
Started in 1987 in a two-car garage in Phillipsburg, NJ. Moved home to Whitehall in 2008. Same family at the helm — and we ship parts nationwide from this shop.
